Signature Projects and Special Events

Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth. The Kiwanis Club of Harrisonburg is proud to have three Signature Projects that we support in our community.  They are:
  • The First Fridays Free at the Explore More Discovery Museum in Harrisonburg (founding sponsor)
  • The Massanutten Regional Library, including the Summer Reading program and the Honored Teacher of the Year Essay Program
  • The pediactric Department at Sentara RMH hospital
Additional Special Events we support are:
  • Recognizing and presenting Lawperson of the Year to an area law enforcement officer
  • Annual Pancake Breakfast supporting different Community Organizations that serve children.
