Due to Covid-19, the Kiwanis Club of Harrisonburg is meeting via zoom the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 12:30 pm. Although we are monitoring the ability to return to in person meetings, it is not anticipated we will do so until after the first of the year. You are welcome to join our meetings at:

On Tuesday, April 13, 2021 we will have a special speaker. A presentation about a senior assessment, a project sponsored by the Bridgewater Retirement Community, by Carrie Budd, Vice President for Development for their Foundation.


Club Donation

March 8, 2021

For several years the club has supported the Pediatric Unit at Sentara Medical Center. Pictured is Dennis Baugh, club member and District Governor, making our annual presentation in the amount of $1,500 to Janet Wendelken, Senior Development Officer for the RMH Foundation.


February 2, 2021:

Pictured are Lisa Shull, Executive Director or Explore More Discovery Museum, received a $7,000 donation from Kiwanis Club Member and District Governor, Dennis Baugh.  This program is a Signature Project of the club.


VIRTUAL MEETINGS:

The club has begun meeting virtually on ZOOM. The scheduled for the next several months is as follows:

  • Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 12:30 pm: Regular Meeting. The program speaker is Carrie Budd, Vice President for Development for their Foundation.
  • Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 12:30 pm: Monthly Board Meeting
  • Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 12:30 pm; Annual Meeting and Club Elections

We ask that you continue to support those organizations we do and are listed under Scholarships and Grants. They need our help during this critical time.


New Members

On December 8, 2020, we inducted two new members into the club. Lindsey Douglas is the Executive Director of the Bog Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg-Rockingham. Capt. Harold Gitau is the new Captain, along with his wife, at The Salvation Army of Harrisonburg.


Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The Harrisonburg Kiwanis Club is dedicated to serving the local community through various service and fundraising projects. Our club has been in service to our community since 1922. We are part of Kiwanis International, an organization serving children for over 100 years.
